Would you sooner be Obese or Anorexic?

Sorry, but someone has been bugging me all week saying that she'd sooner but Anorexic then Obese.

I don't think she has actually realised that people around the person suffer as well. Three years ago, my best friend Harriet was diagnoised as Anorexic. It didn't just hit her but it also hit me as well.

I just want to tell people that if you are planning to lose weight and think that these size 0's are not positive at all. Think of your friends and family that are affected. It's not just you!

Edit: I can't get the poll to work so plez post!

Thats like saying 'would you rather burn to death or drown?'...stupid question

I'd sooner be anorexic. I'd hate to be fat. I'd rather people thought that I had obsessively high control over food than thinking I was fat greedy and have no self control. Cue a mass of bad rep, but everyone's entitled to an opinion and I guess this is just my thought pattern on the matter.

But I appreciate that anorexics experience tremendous health problems, which is not something I'd particularly desire to acquire.

I would rather be anorexic too. I'm well aware that they suffer as well but I just would!

I would rather be obese, anorexia is a mental disorder therefore someone with anorexia could be any weight from obese to thin.

Reply 5

obese, you have more chance of dying with anorexia than obesity.

drown, no question, once your lungs are full of water you just sort of pass out, burning would be horrific.

It can be but in the majority of cases its not. Thats like saying being slim is a mental disorder.

anorexic.

also i'd rahter drown it woud be less apinful i think.

Does this question mean would I rather have the symptoms of one or the other or would I rather be in that mental state?

Reply 11

of course obesity is a mental disorder, as is anorexia...

i'd rather be anorexic...

Reply 12

obese. anorexics feel worse when they put on wieght even if it could save their lives. at least if i was obese then i would see there was a problem.

As everyone said, anorexia is a mental condition and usually more difficult to lose than obesity so I would rather be fat. I really don't understand all the people saying that they would rather have a mental condition that is potentially far more damaging.

I know, a lot of people are obese anyway some see it as no big deal, why the hell would someone want anorexia:confused:

Anorexic any day of the week.

Its dead easy to put on weight.. Whereas once you get fat its physcially harder to do the exercise to get thin again.

but its mentally harder for an anorexic. not to mention the nhs will actually do an op to help a lazy fatty.

By the way drowning is said to be the most peaceful way of dying before your time.

Burning however...christ that would HURT.

I would probably rather be anorexic. I am obese and its not nice at all :frown: But i have only got one side of the story, so its hard to call it really.
