Can't stop getting drunk!

I know it sounds stupid but I feel the need to drink every single night and get pissed out of my head! Its my second week of freshers week and ive been getting either tipsy or drunk every night...all of my new friends all call me a pisshead...is it just a phase i'm going through as it is freshers or am i being stupid? i don't do anything stupid when i'm drunk like pull guys or do anything really silly or puke up, i just make all my friends laugh!

I can go without a drink for weeks....surely thats not impossible !!!!!
Drinking is only a very tiny part of student life. Surely there must be at least one night a week when there is something on the tele that you like!!!!!!!

oh for ****s sake, get over it, stop acting so bloody mature, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all! its a damn health and relationships forum which asks people to help others with their problems, ppl are so god damn rude!! its not like i'm doing something that relates to you anyway, u need a life if you're gonna post something like "grow up" instead of something that this forum actually requires ppl to do...i.e. give advice. so bitchy!

I would say getting pissed every night at Uni is not a good idea not only your work will suffer but also your body, do you want to end up dead by 30? if your not happy about it you've done the first stage and that's admit it but if you really don't like it then make an attempt to stop or seek help.

What about not going to places that are likely to tempt you to drink?

Your just settling in and being sociable!!! Enjoy it while you can, but keep your liver on this side of cirrhosis lol  I'm sure you've not got a problem, Anon1. If your not chucking up, your not drinking silly amounts. You'll settle down after a month I'd guess, and you'll've had your fill of alcohol and might end up with a week off!

Go out, see a movie, go bowling. There is more then one way to have fun.

we got drunk prety much every day for a whole month last freshers, its no big deal u will settle down after that to once or twice or even none.

if i could afford it i would probably buy a bottle of vodka and a bottle of red bull a day and just work my way through it and get a hell of a lot more writing done. But i can't afford it and it's probably just as well in terms of my health.

Don't feel guilty for enjoying yourself. It sounds very much like my freshers week (which actually turned out to be a freshers few months) and I'm glad I did it. You don't really get the same opportunity again at uni with having to study most nights.

I had a great time- I'll never forget it, and everyone is a "pisshead" in their first few weeks, trust me.

its a phase with alcohol, happened to me when i first started drinking

its just because its freshers, ive drank none stop for 2 weeks. I'm only going to go out about 3 times this week though (3rd week) and probably slow it down to 2-3tims a week from then on

It's freshers, it's pretty normal. I was drunk constantly for my first two weeks, and don't feel the need anymore every night.
