The Student Room Group

Missed out or can I change that?

In my second year at uni, the course went for a night out. One of the girls there was quite academic and tried to talk to me a lot (she is straight!). I felt bad cos I never really made the effort with her after that and I could tell she wanted to be mates. I was worried about my own social circle (who were not very good friends - judgementalists) would think about me talking to her.

She is quite a shy person and I found that she is on myspace - would it be worth trying to strike a friendship up with her (she is a 2 hour drive away)? I liked her and wished I had the chance to have been friends but we have all graduated now.

Just hope she doesn't find it stalkerish looking her up on myspace!

^ Just say you found her through someone elses Myspace or something.

how can you avoid someone at university because they are academic? Isn't the whole point of going to university to learn out of your own free will??

LOL! How ironic. Middle-class subjugation through "education" and debt.

I see your point, I think they were jealous of her for being clever. She even told me to attend lectures when I told her I struggled hence avoided going - silly I know.
