Why am I single?

I feel a bit silly posting on here but here goes...

It struck me the other day how 2 of my best friends both have boyfriends and are in quite serious relationships. I have been single for 3 years. Although there have been boys, none of them were anything serious and I suspended contact with them as soon as I realised that they were idiots. It's not so much the case that I feel like I need a boyfriend 'coz everyone else has one, its just that I dont understand why I havent met anyone for so long that I have *really* liked, especially (without trying to sound arrogant) as I think im fairly attractive and intelligent. I'm worried that if I can't find someone now, when you're supposed to be having fun in your prime years, the future looks seriously bleak for me :frown:

It may be do to with the fact that I go to a girls' school (im yr 13), but I do socialise with boys outside of school. I feel that i'm not as emotionally mature as other girls i know because of my lack of relationships, and i cant stop worrying because I feel that there is no one out there that I would like, and that no one would ever want me.

I've been single 4 years and find myself asking the same question lol I don't think there really is an answer, I guess some people just get lucky and others don't or have to wait longer for it to happen, at least it makes it all the more worth it when it does happen, I think I'll advertise my next relationship in the national press I'll be that relieved/in jubilation

yeah definitely, just relax. it depends on how serious a relationship you want, really. if you are looking for the one, don't rush it, just go out, get to know more people, eventually you will find him, although it might not be apparent the guy is the one at first sight. Be friends before lovers.

if you just want a fling, any guy will do.

thats what I think except insert 'girlfriend' but when your single for so long, it does get hard, I think she's just going through one of them phases where it hits you and you think oh my god I'm still single and like everyone is with someone but it does pass. I was in a pub the other night and a girl came up to me and asked me where the toilets where and she was dead close to me and leaned in as I told her and I was like 'wow a girl is actually close to me' and then when she had walked off and I had recovered I thought oh my god, how sad am I, my happiness levels just went through the roof over something as daft as that, I need to get a life but thats how being single for so long makes you feel; just to illustrate my point lol actually I don't think there is one but never mind

I didn't have any girlfriend at all until I was 18. To be honest, I find those long-term relationships that people fit in before the end of school to be a bit odd.

drunk to be honest, makes me say stupid things, I go a bit 'Alan Partridge' but yeah I guess I am kinda desperate lol not that I seriously expect to pull a girl from a forum but in general I mean, it gets tiring being single

Yes, it does, but I don't think just any old random relationship will cure your ills, it has to be a person that touches you and makes you fall in love...

yeah I wouldn't go with anyone, it would have to be someone I genuinely liked, it's just finding em innit and even if u do, trouble only begins because you have to work out how to bridge the gap
