Can I still do GCSE Mandarin even though I have already done GCSE Cantonese?

Hi All,

i am currently in year 13 so I have done all of my GCSE's. In year 11, I have also applied and sat the GCSE Cantonese exam and achieved an A*. On my certificate, it shows the qualification as Chinese and it doesn't state that it is Cantonese. I've sat the exam with Edexcel.

Does this mean Cantonese and Mandarin will just give you the same 'chinese' qualification so because I've done Cantonese, does this mean I can't do Mandarin?

Or will Mandarin give me an extra qualification?

many thanks,
Ashley
Have you tried phoning up the exam board to ask them? I would imagine it would be a different certificate, but you should phone up and ask.
