Closure of the Security CouncilWatch
This is now your opportunity to make a permanent decision.
Please vote, this reform is significant and will change how the MUN operates.
Arguments in favour of closure:
*The Security Council is irrelevant: it was last used in August, does not had a purpose and has lead to a two-tier system for certain positions.
*The main forum is inactive - we should focus our attentions on the GA and not a subforum.
*Very few Security Council resolutions have been proposed in the last 3-5 years.
*Few people understand or use the Security Council veto.
*Holding elections for SC positions is time-wasting and unnecessary.
Arguments in favour of retention:
*Allows members to expand the influence of their positions.
*Provides another forum for debate.
*Rotating membership for non-permanent states gives reps something to work for and attracts debate at election time.
7 days to cast your vote - it's decision time.
I will begin the closure process shortly, along with associated Charter reforms.
