What makes you more drunk than others.....

yeah, i was just wonderin as i was talkin to this other guy a few days ago...

What other factors can make you more/less drunk than others? apart from the obvious (this relates to younger students not ppl with 40 year drinkin exp)

Like:
Amount of food consumed
Body mass
Height - or so i've been told!

This is because this guy said he can't handle his drink very well and no matter what he's had to eat before hand he is literally on the floor by like his 2nd/3rd pint.

I can normally start feeling the effects by then but i mean what the hell?! 2/3pints and he's singing on the floor!

I've heard that if you're zinc deficient you cant break down alcohol as quickly. Other than that I have no idea. I'm a real lightweight but I have a friend who can drink loads and yet you cant even tell she's had loads to drink.

Some people have that genetic gene thingy which makes them more prone to getting reaaaaally drunk really quickly on small amounts of alcohol.
One of my friends only had half a can of beer and he was passed out on the floor so quick- altho he didn't have that gene. He was just a light weight.

But seriously I think another factor is how much and how long you've been drinking for. Also girls are meant to get drunk faster than guys.

yeh how fast i drink stuff, if ive eaten, if ive remembered to drink a glass of milk or oranfge juice(lines the stomach), and if i mixed lagers/beers with spirits but it pure or with chasers.

The head of sixth form told me today that genetics can be a factor in what makes people more easily drunk - more specifically, he said that people with Chinese or Mongolian heritage are more prone to getting drunk... which seems to be true based on anecdotal evidence. :rolleyes:

What liquids were drunk
What types of alchohol aka beer, vodka. Any mixing?
Drunk with a straw...

Quite a few more but I cant be arsed to think, alot of people also like to act drunk instead of the real thing.. so when people say I didnt know what I was doing... they did, they just pretend.

for me it depends how quickly i drink, three vodka/lemonades at a bar im fine, if im in a club and down them im a very cheap (and drunk) date lol

experience, and yeah chinese people get drunk loads quicker, plus their smaller and normalyl thin/light as well

three and i;m tipsy but my mind is still sharp just in a happier mood,4 the brain starts 2 tell the nerves 2 piss off and control themselves and goes in 2 hibernation,thats when i have a problem.

If I forget to request it, I take the ice out of my spirits when I have them as it just dilutes it so if you don't have ice with your drink, the alcohol will probably hit you a bit more.

I think the surroundings your in have a great influence as well, for example, if I'm around girls I like or there is someone I want to try and impress, I get nervous so I drink a hell of alot more than I normally do but if it's just a random boring night out then I'm unlikely to drink as much.

if you're a fatty, the alcohol will take longer to affect your system. apparently drinking through straws hits you harder or something.

It depends what I drink.
I can drink numerous amounts of Tia Maria and I won't get drunk at all.
If I drink 5 or 6 vodka's - I am drunkish!
If I drink 1 or 2 glasses of wine - I'm rolling!

Im 6'4 and one hell of a lightweight, so height isn't really a factor.
