well for a start don't act desperate. Smell nice. Don't try and "be" anything, just dress how you want really (within reason). Make an effort with the girls, make jokes, try and be interested but if you really, really aren't then at least pretend to be remotley interested and if not that, then just make a joke about it. Personally I like reasonably chatty guys who are laid back and aren't social weirdos.
