So, I am trying to learn Italian and cannot afford proper lessons, even though I would love to!
I am currently using Rosetta stone, and Duolingo. But i have been told it is not enough. I need to learn it pretty quick as I am moving to Italy in about 7 months time.

What other software, sites, techniques can I use, other than just repetition and practice?

I translate all the time. Translate to and from the target language, do as much reading as you can in it and talk to yourself in it. Works for me (source: I have at least a reasonable level of proficiency in eight languages).

I use google translate, not 100 percent accurate, but it works OK enough for Spanish.

Best thing is to travel and learn, I plan on going to Puerto Rico or Miami and learning.
