A Levels are getting more predictable.

Any aspiring barrister should be able to get AAA or AAB with a bit of hard work.

in REAL answer to your question

this yr exeter moved up to AAA-AAB, effectively meaning anyone predicted AAA with get an AAA offer, but they didnt want to put off people who werent predicted AAA so they've kept a range. Bristol, KCL, Lancaster and somewhere are doing the same

Not everyone who does Law wants to be a barrister though

Reply 1985

i wanna be a solicitor actually:biggrin: lol. but many people who do law go on to do much different things, or become pure academics...so nothing to do with barrister..or solicitor

Yeah, I agree, that wasn't true at all. I'm predicted all As and got an AABB offer from KCL and an AAB offer from Bristol.

KCL do not give out AAA offers. Rumour has it they will do for 2008 entrance. But for now its AAB/AABB for all applicants (I know someone on here had an AAA offer which then turned to AA, that was just wierd)

They do for Law with German. At least that's what they gave my friend.

Wow really? All the Law with German students in my year that I know had AAB offers. So it must be this year that they've started with AAA. The straight LLB is definitely still AAB though.

Do you have any idea, then, why they put AAA/AAB in the prospectus?

You don't need an insurance. A lot of people who've applied to do Law at AAA universities wont. You have two good schools at AAA: LSE and Warwick. Aim to get the grades that will get you into the uni you most want to get into. Forget about insurances - they don't matter if you're determined to get into your first choice.

Reply 1995

Did you really think they would reconsider because you asked them to?

I agree with serenity... you don't need an insurane uni if you work hard and get your predicteds. Clearly your AAA offers think you can do it, so you should too! And there's no better motivation to try hard than needing it, after all if you had the fallback of AAB from KCL you would probably think "meh, doesn't matter anyway". Bristol are AAA offer though, aren't they?

Reply 1996

At least she now knows it was her LNAT, not her PS or reference.

Bristol are AAA-AAB.

Sorry to hear that. I think it really sucks that the LNAT can be so decisive in one's application; that 7 or so years of very hard work can be thrown away in a two hour test.

Ah well, most people would kill for LSE! It's an incredible uni, as is Warwick, so at least you've got a top five Law uni, even if it isn't quite the one you wanted. You could always reapply, but this time to Cambridge, if you feel that bad about it....?

It said AAB in the prospectus the last time I checked. Im sure it says something like "we offer AAB not AAA because we want to encourage people from all backgrounds blah blah"
