Propanol to propanone

Hi guys. I've got a chemistry question for you from a friend (it was never my strong suit), hope you can help. Whatever rep I have to give is on offer .

He's transforming propan-2-ol into propan-2-one via oxidation, by mixing, stirring, heating and distilling. He wants to know where the actual reaction takes place, is it during the stirring or does it require heat?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Secondary Alcohol to Ketones requires oxidising agent eg: Acidified K2Cr2O7 but no heat
reaction occurs with sufficient heating when even conc of both reactants even throughout. You get orange to green colour change
They undergo Oxidation with potassium dichromate(VI) solution acting as a reagent.
