wierd thing - help needed

hi, before going to my doctor i wanted to see if anyone could help identify a problem i have. when i get an erection i have recently noticed that this thing that looks like a vein appears but its actually solid. I can move it with my thumb and it starts at the bottom of my penis and goes about half way up the shaft. the best way i could describe it is like a solid vein underneath the skin. its not painful but im sure its wierd! any help of what it could be and possible ways of dealing with it would be appreciated. thanks in advance

I think veins are normal, but if it's worrying you it's definitely worth checking it out with a doctor, even if it's just to put your mind at rest!

thanks for your help, just to say that im sure its not a vein cos its solid and theres no blood running through it. its just the best way i could think to describe it.

oh thats just a common vein, but as tinkerbelle above has mentioned, since it has raised your concern, by all means go and have it checked out. its nothing worth being embarrased to have checked, and the dr will offer all the support he can! but like from what i think, its just a common vein.

yup, i had a wierd thing on my balls i thought for ageds might be a tumour but my doc was great and reassured me it waas fine :smile:

could be a cist...they're usually solid and can be moved, not sure they can be long though :confused:

Are you sure it isn't a vein!? By all means, go to the doctor and show him your erection; but it sounds fairly normal to me. :p:

If it only happens when you have an erection, you realise you're going to have to get a hard on in front of a 50 year old man? Its not like they have porn mags hanging around to help you out, you'll have to stare at the old guy and get turned on... So, good luck with that... :smile:
