Basically I've just found out that I'm allergic to lactose, since like a week ago, and I've had to cut dairy out of my diet completely. Absolutely gutted because dairy is in anything that's nice
About an hour ago I thought I'd try a cup of tea with some skimmed milk in it and my lips have swollen up and I have a rash on my neck. This all happened last week when I had cereal with milk and chocolate and cheese and I probs shouldn't have tried out skimmed milk tonight but I was just trying to see if I can actually have ANY ****ing dairy whatsoev.
So are there any ways of reducing the swelling? Should I get an ice pack on it?
See a GP, perhaps there are certain pills for lactose intolerant people when they have a reaction. How come you have only just been diagnosed? I feel very sorry for you, being allergic to dairy must be horrible Good luck with the swelling xxx
Go see your doctor and he should be able to give you antihistamines to help the swelling. Does soya milk have lactose in, im not sure, but if it doesnt you could have it in your tea instead of cows milk.
Something like piriton might help but I'm not sure. Basically if your intolerant-avoid it! Soya milk doesn't have lactose in it so it's a good alternative.

Soya and rice milk are two alternatives to regular milk, rice milk is quite sweet, so if you like sugar in your tea then its good. Soya is less so, its not to everyone's taste so try out different types, alpro do a load of soya alternatives to dairy products including yoghurts, milkshakes and even custard, and they taste ok, so give them a whirl!!!
