  • 8GB RAM.
  • 1000GB SATA hard drive.
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1.

Display features:

  • 15.6 inch screen.
  • High definition display.
  • Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.
  • DVD-RW (read/write).

Graphics:

  • Intel UMA8510G graphics card.

i know this isnt the best laptop but will it be able to run games on low settings. If not is there a better oone for around 400 pounds. Before you say you cant buy a descent one for that price remember i dont want to play on high or ultra.

The laptop's an APU, it doesn't have dedicated graphics. Looking at the benchmarks for more powerful APUs in the same series, you'd be lucky to hit 30+ fps on most "triple A" games at the bare minimum settings. But then again your budget is very low.bFor £400 look into fourth gen Core i5 processors (e.g i5-4210M or i5-4200U), preferably one ending in M, whose better onboard graphics will give you a better shot at running games on low.

They're trying to sell it, they'd probably just say yes.

Yes, this one will run new games at low-med settings. I can make £400 suggestions if you want, but they'll all be integrated graphics options and nowhere near as good as PCSpecialist's custom options.

Yes, 8GB is beneficial but I use 4GB in my desktop gaming rig and play modern titles maxed out without issues. I had 8GB initially but one stick broke, and I haven't got around to replacing it yet as it's not causing me any problems.

Graphics cards in laptops cannot be upgraded in the vast majority of cases, so buy under the assumption that this is what you'll be stuck with for the lifespan of the laptop.

Their intention is to sell, so if you are not experienced in technology, they might even sell you a crap laptop that would start having issues after some time.

Both will be pretty crap, the one with the 820M will be less crap and will run more stuff on low at acceptable frame rates. If gaming ability is a factor, I'd strongly suggest looking at putting the extra for an 850M machine or you'll potentially find yourself regretting you didn't.
