am i doing the right thing?

well, i've liked a guy for quite a long time and we got pretty close at this one party a few weeks ago.
a while before that he had mentioned that he liked me (and i liked him..) but me being the awkward person that i am thought, shiiiiite what should i do??
then at the party he spoke of me and him possibly getting together in the future.. he put some weird scenario up but yeah.

thing is at this party a girl who knew i liked him pulled him. it did upset me because it was like, well you say stuff like you like me but then go pull someone else. i have spoken to him a few times briefly then but the topics not come up at all, so i've avoided it too..

it was my birthday the other day and he rang me at half 1 in the morning, i was quite impressed! dunno if it meant anything tho.

so yeah, the question is.. i've told him i need to talk to him about some important stuff (aka my feelings for him) because i'm sick of just waiting for something (if anything) to happen. personally it feels like we are going somewhere, but i dunno that for definite, so i wanna see what he feels for me, if its just friendship or is it more. if its just friendship, i'm not going to push it, i don't want to lose what we have, but if theres potential for more why not go for it?

i mean maybe hes tierd of wait for something to happen too so he pulled that other chick. cuz maybe he doesnt know that you like him alot or something.
