Huddersfield Uni?

I was at the open day today.

I'm not really sure but I think it was just course specific to music technology, though seen as that's what I applied for, it's all I'm going to know about, so I might be wrong.

Equipment all looks really good, as does Storthes Hall, which I'll probably be at when/if I go. The only real bad thing so far seems to be the distance between the halls and uni.

Its 5 miles isnt it? Thats a canny hike, but its ideal location for me if I get there - I prefer to be out in the sticks rather than the middle of a town :smile:

It's around that. It does look really good, and I think it would be good for me, and other first years.

I am a first year student at Hudds, it is amazing, I live in Storthes Hall which is where I am typing from as we speak.

Storthes hall is so far out of town that it is really annoying, the Taxi costs £5 from town to here. and the buses dont run past 11pm the earliest bus is 8 in the morning so if you think you can stay out all night.

All the first years live in Storthes Hall or Ashunhurts, so its up to you. Any questions just ask i will try and answer

I am wanting to do Information Communication Technology. I loved Huddersfield when i visited. I am still to visit Teesside.

my boyfriend is in the exact same position as you. He already lives in Huddersfield and wants to study ICT but likes Teesside two, perhaps you will know each other next year. LOL

I wish my conditional offer would appear on UCAS track. The Admission tutor has said I have an offer, and what conditions they are, but they're just not on UCAS yet!

Im going to Ashenhurst, I had a look around both and to be honest Ashenhusrt is not that bad, its much cheaper and I can crawl home from the town after a night out :biggrin:

, anyone else thinking of Ashenhurst?

Ashunhurst is so much different from Storthes Hall, there is a hill between the uni and Ashenhurst that is awful to climb, believe me I have done it in both rain and in the snow/ice. Its quite scary to walk up at night as well. But the taxi's dont cost that much. It's nice and quiet at Ashenhurst, but alot of the nights out are at Storthes Hall Bar

Bad thing about Teesside - 2 students were attacked there earlier this week. Thanks to being just up the road, its always on the local news.

Got my first Physics exam result today and there is a storm brewing over the results. Lad predicted A got D, lads predicted C got low 30s (U) and another lad and I predicted E got U (me by 2 marks!). We think theres been a major balls-up with the marking because the teacher tought in the same way as he did last year and nobody failed (3 As, a couple of Bs etc) :mad:
