Huddersfield Uni?

when i filled the forms out it said tick the box which you prefer... 1st years/2nd/mature. so i duno i guess it just depends!
i don't know anyone who will be in huddersfield haha. and i have no idea where anything is, i'm gonna go up there to have a good look around soon. whats the difference between little aspley and big? i think its somethin to do with me payin more for a bigger room? not too sure. do you know people that are gonna be there?

I went to see aspley to pick out my room there last week and i think little aspley's jus a smaller version of big aspley (without sounding stupid!! :redface:

) but it's nearer to the main road plus big aspley has the gym and pool on site but thats about it. If you payed more your getting a delux room thers only one in every flat and i got the one in mine aswell!! :smile:

haha ace that we got bigger rooms, did you pay extra too? how come you had to pick your room? i got given mine .. lol. i'm like from near liverpool so its only an hour and a half away really. i'm studying illustration. what about you? you should definitely say hi when we get there lol :] i found aspley myself. well my friends in manchester live in the opal halls there and they are great. i love them so i found the opal accommodation in huddersfield and applied :biggrin:

and i wanted a bigger room for all my art crap so i begged my mum n dad to pay that lil bit extra haha. took some convincing but it worked haha. x

hey, im gunna be studying Drama in september, if i get the grades i need! Bit stuck on where to live but Storthes sounds like a gud laugh so probs will be there! Whats the night life like in huddersfield? I live about 40mins away between leeds and wakefield which are both top nites out...hope its half as gud!

I'm going to hudds uni in september to study Interactive Multimedia. Im pretty scared cos i dont know ne1 thats goin there or nethin much about the area. I'm applying for a room at Storthes Hall and i was wondering if ne1 else is staying there too? I think they put people from different subjects in rooms nearby so u can get to know other ppl from those in ur class. So i guess if ne of u apply to Storthes theres a chance we cud be flat mates? lmao

Lol yeah had to pay £4 extra a week it doesnt sound like much but it does add up!! dat £4 could be food for a week for us students!! :biggrin:

i think we made the right choice with aspley!! evrey1 in storthes halls will have to pay to get taxi's home after a night out but we can just crawl to aspley!!lol :biggrin:

Hey i'm going to be studying drama at hudds aswell this september! i'm going to be in aspley halls ith opal accommodation, it's a lot closer to town you should have a look before deciding but stothes halls sounds ace aswell they both have advantages & disadvantages! Nightlife in Hudds is brill i think anyway jus as good as wakefield don't bout leeds tho!! :smile:

hey i'm startin at hudds this september going to be studying drama. i would say aspley cause it's closer to town plus theres a gym and pool @ aspley i think most of the rooms in big aspley are gone but theres a good few left in little aspley it's the same only smaller :biggrin:

I've just been on the opal website. I dont really understand how the rooms work. Do you get a separate bedroom and bathroom and just share an apartment or is it like a communal bedroom? lmao im so confused but them rooms look better than storthes - and you get a heated pool! lol :smile:

with opal you get your own bedroom with your own bathroom.
and you share a living room/kitchen.
its really good, ive stayed with friends in the manchester ones and they are so good. everyone has a laugh, i recommend opal!

erm well i've pretty much only booked mine about 2 weeks ago.
i went for the deluxe room, its got a bigger room and bigger bed.

Taxi to Storthes is only a fiver anyway, and when there's 4 of you sharing it's £1.25 each, so not really that expensive.

I dont know how Storthes sorted out the rooms with us, but it did seem like they were putting people from different courses together, but it was also by surname (in our flat, our surnames all began with F or G). Your profile says you are from near Middlesbrough. Where abouts (I'm from Peterlee, just up the A19)? :smile:

As kobrakai has said, the taxi from town to Storthes is only £5 so its not too bad.
