Sounds like what you would get after doing any sport when you are not used to it. It's just because you are using muscles that you are not used to using. Of course, I have no idea how active you are so you will know if this is right or not.

As for stopping the pain the best thing is just to go do more.

Warm up before by just stretching and slowly getting the hard beat up with some brisk walking. Then cool down by stretching. Very important!
Warmies and Coolies, it's the only way before and after exercise :biggrin: x

I'm not active at all. My parents told me I needed to get some excerise so I started jogging on Wednesday and was planning to do it everyday. But I had sensations of pain all over my body and decided to stop it for now til I get better. My legs are aching like MAD!:frown:

I warmed up... but I didn't cool down haha... when I came back home, I just sat on the sofa and watched tv.

Just warm up alot. You don't really need to cool down for jogging as it's a pretty tame form of exercise.

Do all the stretches you've been taught in PE. If you can find a railing it will help.

Do it every other day and you'll notice an improvement. If you put the effort in, fast walking will do next to bugger all.

Haha lol tut tut :p: You m'dear are suffering the consequences! Still atleast you know for next time :biggrin: Just do some hamstring stretches, calves etc. x

Keep doing it daily, then you will stop getting so stiff, it will have just been a shock to your body.

Ah right, I didn't read your post properly lol.

Yes, I'm def going to warm up and cool down next time. What sort of stretches should I do? Any good tips?

(OP hamstring curls/stretches, calf strecthes etc.)

Find a rail or use your steps.

Do all the usual leg excercises you will already know.

Advice coming from a sprinter, warm up your neck and shoulders. I can't stress this.

I have lax joints which resulted in a dislocation because i didn't use to do this. You won't ache either.

Yeah, they will ache, but it does not mean anything is wrong. Just keep at it. As others have said, warm up and stretch. Remember to warm up first though (jog for 10 minutes then stretch). Never stretch cold muscles, it will do damage. Remember as well, you can't run a marathon to start with. Start with very short distances and add about 5-10 minutes (or whatever you feel is comfortable) every time you go until you reach what you want to do.

It sound like you have gone from one extreme: doing nothing; to the other extreme: too much, too soon. I think jogging is not a good exercise to do to get fit to start with, bad for your joints and back - too much impact. However, if you are going to go jogging, try jogging on soft ground and not on tarmac.

Do you have a bicycle? If so, start cycling, set yourself a sensible goal, distance/ time and try to increase it bit by bit - for God's sake do not do too much, too soon; you will do more harm than good.

If you can join a gym - have a personal fitness plan set up for you and train sensibly.

Yeah, I think I went too extreme. I was zooming out the house like a mad person, I saw blurs of my neighbours waving and I bet I looked like a right fool haha:p: .

Thanks for the advices everyone :smile: I'm still suffering in pain but I've learnt my lesson.
