Hi can anyone help me with this scenario

Lisa arranged to have an air conditioning system installed in her supermarket by Aircool Ltd, at a cost of £20,000. She paid £10,000 when the work began. One evening, whilst only two thirds of the work had been completed, Lisa’s supermarket caught fire and was totally destroyed. Lisa wishes to know if she can ask for her £10,000 back, but is concerned Aircool Ltdwill demand the outstanding sum of £10,000 from her.

Thank you

It's possible Lisa could have the contract discharged by frustration, i.e.the fire having bought about a change in circumstances (Taylor v Caldwell), after the contract was created. With it being a fire, on the facts, neither party would be at fault. With the fire having destroyed the supermarket, you'll probably need to discuss whether this has rendered 'Aircool Ltd' impossible from performing or fulfilling it's obligations (completing the air conditioning system).
