I'm at university, having a rubbish time so far. Finished a 7 month relationship where I fell in love for the first time in my life. Deep love too. But I had to finish him as he treated me so badly.

But when he told me on MSN the other day he were dating another guy... my hjeart just stopped and I haven';t been able sleep at all. I'm just upset about it. Even though I can't get back with him it's really upset me. WHy has this happened?

If he's treated you badly you're better off without him, you know that. :smile:

I know it's hard but try not to let it get to you. You'll get over him when you focus on all the bad stuff about him.

I think it's obvious. You loved him, to a large extent; he didn't reciprocate. Probably not really his fault to be honest - you can't choose to love someone more or less than you do (as you've proven to yourself by not being able to forget about him), and you can't find out whether you love your partner more or less than they love you. He probably doesn't realise, or simply doesn't care, that it's hurting you. As for "treating you badly" - do you realise that when you're in a relationship, your standards go up exponentially? Again, his idea of a crush / being a good friend might not have meant a thing compared to your idea of love. And yet he might not have been able to understand why you felt this way, especially if he never has.

Just a thought.

i agree with hugatree, if hes treated you badly your better off without him.
im kinda in the same situation tho my ex isnt going out with anyone else as far as i know.

i know it takes time but youll be fine eventually

dont you hate it when ex's do that? it should be law that ex's couldnt get with someone else until both parties in the previous relationship are ready for that... and them getting back with their ex's is just wrong :frown:

**** that's quite scarey.

I'm going to try and lift mys elf esteem, go the gym etc make my self look better, he will reget it then. make him suffer a little.
