    I don't really understand why people who get straight A's in their AS worry about applying to unis which offer between BBB and AAA when clearly they have the best chance they have from their grades?

    The OP didn't get straight As, they got AAAC. I know what you mean and some people do seem to worry a lot unnecessarily, but at the top unis, pretty much everyone has straight As, so it's undertstandable to be worried about other things like GCSE results.
