LIPA BA Hons Music

Hi

Has anyone been to the audition at LIPA for the BA hons Music?

Can you give me any pointers on what is covered? I understand that you need to be a min of grade 5 standard but what exactly are you tested on? Sight reading? Aural? whats the theory test like? what are the workshops all about?

Any help will be gratly appreciated. Thank you... SW

LIPA seems a bit of a well kept secret. When you guys have had your interviews, please post how it went. My bro might be applying next year!

Hi there! I'm a third year at LIPA, and I find it the worst place ever. Biggest regret of my life.
So, they say that LIPA is "Fame School", or like it. Let me tell you it's not. LIPA is full of snobby people who are absoloutley full of themselves.. There are very talented people there, don't get me wrong, but it's all fake people.
The hours for each course are absoloutley stupid, worst for the dancers and actors, community drama is bad too.

Do not expect this to be some sort of 'Glee' or 'Fame', it's a university with the worst of everything. I've only stayed there because I'm not a quitter, but I can't wait to go.

There is a ****load of written work on each course, (yes it's true).
Everyone's slept together there, all the boys are gay, and all the girls are the posh english type snobs. Horrible. I would STRONGLY suggest not to go here unless you are a type of person that I have mentioned above.

I'm talking from experience.

Anyway I've spoken to two students from LIPA and they were both really nice people, they've given me a lot of advice and one of them gave me a free bass lesson.

Also you're called 'prettyboy' which doesn't make you sound very heterosexual, especially for someone commenting about how al the boys are gay.
