I a big bargain hunter but I don't go to the extremes of lining outside a shop all the way though the night and then causing a riot just to get a cheap tv.
    Well a broken cheap tv.

In some ways black Friday is really reflecting Americans lust for consumer goods.

One could argue that it is more a symptom of declining wages purchasing power vs the price of goods & services. I guess when we look at the demographic of people and the classes which they belong too it may reveal some truths.

If this assumption is true then it only points out that the current Coalition has failed and there is indeed a cost of living crisis which Ed Millband has championed. We need to remember 80% of the media is right-wing and they've been out to get Red ED and his Socialist values. It would be better to judge at real things what happen and not tabloid stories.

I think we can expect huge UKIP rises due to this because the working class demographic are seeing there living standards fall every year.

Is Black Friday behaviour socially acceptable? No but if you only had one chance to get a TV for your family at a price you could afford what would you do?

Mindless Capitalism or Cost of Living Crisis?

how is it "mindless"? it's based on people rationally calculating its price relative to its value - why shouldn't they jump to the opportunity to get things very cheaply?
if it was mindless, wouldn't it be people swarming into shops where they charge you far too much? like non-corporate corner shops (in my experience)?

It is not at all reflective of declining wages. People like cheap things, regardless of wage.No one likes to waste money regardless of how much they have.

The media, especially the BBC, is more left-wing than right-wing. There are outlets for both sides but the majority of British media is in support of left-wing because hating the right-wing is the cool thing now.

Mindless capitalism? Look up the definition of capitalism. Mindless consumerism is what you're trying to say. To which my response is: why not? If these people want to act the way they act then let them. Individual freedom should be placed above your feelings.
