Hey guys,

I am doing my History coursework and would like some good reading material to use in my essay to back up the arguments that I’m making. Therefore, if anyone is doing the same assignment and or question as me could they direct me to any sources.

I am under AQA doing HIS4X Historical Equality. Answering the following question:

“To what extent was the quality of African American leadership the most important factor in promoting progress in the civil rights struggle within the context of the period 1865 – c.1980? With particular reference to the years 1945 – 1980.

I am exploring leadership of African Americans, the role of the Supreme Court and the presidential role. Are there any other factors that might tie quite well into this argument?

Thanks,

Alex
