I have recently received an offer for an interview at the University Of Hertfordshire. However, i'm still unsure as to whether I am ready for the jump and am considering taking a gap year to gain more experience in my chosen field. If I do in fact get an conditional offer from the university and reject it, am I then allowed to apply to their university again the following year?

I think you would be able to reapply the following year but you should ask them just in case.
    Good luck with your interview.

yep it is very common for people to take gap years and reapply to the same uni.

It definitely isn't seen as a bad thing

You can reapply, but if you get an offer you should be able to ask to defer your place, sometimes they wont allow you, but if you get an offer its worth a try :-)
