Apologies if this isn't the right thread section. I haven't played FIFA since FIFA 13 so I don't know what small things have changed in the game since then. When I used to play the game, it always bugged me that whenever I ran at a player with the ball, I instantly lost possession. As a consequence I learned to always run across a player when I dribbled with the ball. This really limited my attacking options and made the game quite boring. I could only make ground and create chances by passing alone, which I did become quite good at, winning more games in FUT than I lost. But it wasn't very exciting and if I came up against a disciplined defense who wouldn't leave massive gaps behind them I could easily exploit then there was nothing I could do apart from cross and hope for the best.

I did not get the same joy the computer or other people got when they ran at me. If a player ran at one of mine, I held contain and my player would maintain the distance and run backwards until he was on his own goal line. It was just a case of retreating until they got close enough that I had to let go of contain and make a tackle with b which rarely worked because contain never got me enough close to them, or I had to jockey using left trigger and have to react to every move they made myself. One fake shot from Robben and by the time I had reacted to it he would be in acres of space and would have already shot before I adjusted to his change of direction.

In short, how do you dribble at someone and not lose the ball as soon as they stand still, and how do you defend and not concede an acre of space by 'containing' them as they run at you?

Look at how powerful she now is OP.

I'm wondering whether to get Fifa 15, I haven't owed one since 13. I read on Amazon that defending is awful and you can just run through.

This is true to an extent (the defending) and definitely for the first Month or so. I got it on release date (big fan!!) and for the first month they would just run straight through (rather than defending being awful it's just a radical change to how people dribble). Now I'm used to it its not so bad though. You WILL concede goals from kick off (literally somebody running from kick off straight through to score) And there is nothing you can do about it, but you can score these yourself  would recommend though.

Interesting. Have you got it on PS4? I'd like to get it, especially now the PS4 has gone down on Amazon. The career mode with all the stadiums looks incredibly appealing.

I've played it on PS3 against my friend and on two occasions he'd scored from kick off before I'd touched the ball. I still went on to win both though because I'm good like that.

Yeah ps4, would recommend so much man, the graphics are awesome and yeah the price is down. Pretty annoyed as I really like the white one, would've got that if I was buying now

The stadium things are awesome. I like playing underdog games against my brother, and it feels so awesome playing a night game at Turf Moor against Manchester City. Love how the camera shakes when you score to replicate the grounds atmosphere, it's incredible! Must buy.

Nothing worse than spending ages to finally get an equaliser in the 90th minute only fot the kick off glitch to become your fall down.

OP dribbling has become easier on fifa with the correct players, I play with United and dribbling with Di Maria is quite easy. In the demo I played as BVB often and Reus was another player who you could easily beat a player with. The best way to deal with players like that is with physical players and using the push-pull (tap circle) but be careful to do that in the box or you could easily concede a penalty.

Kick off glitch is annoying, was hoping they would release a patch to remove it but they just haven't.

Yeah dribbling is dumb. It's easy with anyone that has good pace and agility stats, just weave in and out. Tbh I have adapted and now 96/100 dribbles I can stop but there's still the odd one that sneaks through.

Don't believe in kick off glitch it was worse in FIFA 14 FUT where you press l1 and triangle to lob somebody.
The run through all you have to do is reduce space.

FIFA is the same as all FIFAs you just reduce space if you can do that while create space for yourself you will win the game. It's also best to have an attacking formation in this one if you require to play at pace if you want a defensive formation then have a target man with a fast guy in the middle as crossing is no longer OP like it was in FIFA 14.

Just look at your formations and look at what your opponent is doing tactically.

Also you MU **** tell me when you getting FIFA so I can batter you guys.

Yep. I've switched my formation to a flat 4-4-2, get little and large up front, both high work rate to press the back 4, also two B2B CM's, then I play a CDM on the RW (helps for tracking back) who usually comes central during attack with a pacy LW who's more attack minded, but also get him tracking back. The RW therefore usually comes central when I'm going forward, so it switches to a 4-3-3 and then going back usually one striker drops back forming a 4-5-1. Very hard to break down tbh.

Also I've already got FIFA phag had it since release day.

I hate that, I always get Chelsea in seasons and hate it on the counter when Hazard is running at me. William is also quite strong on the game and makes a really good player to push through defenders. I play with Valencia upfront because he is also decently strong and quick on the game makes countering really easy compaired to having the slow RVP/Falcao partnership. Real is the easiest team to play with, Ronaldo/Bale are hard to outmuscle and quick and can dribble, its a nightmare to play against if the player knows what he is doing.

I'm usually Chelsea or Atleti tbh. It's better to choose hardworking players which overcomes lack of pace, and subsequently the opponents pace.

Makes sense with your tactics, I'm currently playing as United but may start another season with PSG though crosses are not OP this year with Ibra.

Not a fan of United on the game, too slow and no incision (could put ADM or Valencia up top for pace but not really a fan of that). PSG also play disjointed, but yeah depends how you play.

I'd milk you on Fifa. I'm the pound for pound best Fifa player on TSR. I play as Chelsea btw, it's a purely business relationship. My heart is always at Old Trafford.

Hang on a minute, there is a white PS4?

Man, I want it. I want to order one on Amazon today but I'm worried I won't do my uni work over Christmas.

I too am a Chelsea man But I disagree with your first comment, as I feel that I can match the top players on here and beat them

We can both agree we'd beat Jam.

Yeah. I see Fifa the same as women in terms of, I like to keep business and pleasure separate. I play as United in career mode obviously, but playing mates I need Chelsea. I see them as the best team to win the tournament in terms of set up (Jam, 2014).

Yeah, I don't know whether to get one or not man. I'm thinking just do my uni work 9-5 then fit in some Fifa a couple of days a week as well as socialising. 50/50. I really want one, although I've already ruled it out to my family.

Looks awesome man, but probably more expensive would it not? I'm in it for the best economical deal.

    I've spanked Jam before anyway
    Spoiler:
    Show
he plays boring defensive possession football, we usually draw

Chelsea are far and away the best team on the game for me. Defensively on point and Costa is a beast.

It's up to you man, if it was me because I'm lowly motivated I would be glued to it 24/7 so wouldn't buy it myself. However you seem like you could manage time better, so go for it if you can.

I haven't checked prices recently, saw the White one for £320 iirc but not sure how much the normal black one is fetching at the moment. But yeah no worth paying more for.
