Transition Metal Electronic Configuration (Edexcel AS)

Hi guys!
I know that the sub-shells are filled in this order:
1s<2s<2p<3s<3p<4s<3d<4p<4d
Some elements do follow Aufbau's principle while some don't, why is that?
How to write the electronic configuration of transition metals from Scandium to Zinc?
Which sub-shell is filled first 4s or 3d and why?
And finally why does 3d come after 4s?

Thanks!!

No, everything follows the aufbau principle. 4s is lower in energy than 3d thus it is filled first
