Simple question: what would you choose between these two courses at these two Universities:

-BSc (Hons) Business Management at BPP University London
or
-BA (Hons) Business Management at London Metropolitan Moorgate

I know there's much hate for London Met on this website but try and be objective in this please!

Cheers

Hello "IJustCan'tSleep", sorry I left it a while before responding to your question: I was hoping that other TSR users would have a go at answering your questions, as they will be able to be a bit more objective than I am.

Unfortunately, I'm not really able to answer your question direclty. This is for two reasons: firstly, I don't know very much about BPP and their course so couldn't provide a fair comparison and secondly, as I work for London Met, I think you can probably guess what my answer would be anyway .

However, that said, I'd probably advocate that you try to go to open days at both institutions so you can see which one you prefer. Do BPP have a forum on here too? If so it might be worth (if you haven't already) posting a similar question there.

Obviously I do have access to a lot of information about our Business Management course which I'll include below, to help you make a decision, but like I said in order to make the best decision you should possibly approach BPP directly too.

I think the principle selling point for our course is definitely the faculty's location in the heart of the City. Below is an excerpt from our website that gives you an overview of the course followed by a video of the Dean discussing various selling points etc.

"This course will equip you with key business skills and the ability to fulfill your potential within multinational organisations. We provide in-depth knowledge of all stages in the business management process, from conceptualisation to strategic evaluation.

During the degree, you will develop an appreciation of the business management environment through the study of real life business issues.

Short and long accredited work placements are available as part of the course - our business placements office Business Works will help you to search and apply for posts in a wide variety of organisations.

A feature of the course is an option to specialise in one of three pathways:

International Business pathway: this is designed to provide you with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the operation and impact of international business organisations in a dynamic global business environment. We consider major current global debates such as international business structure and location, innovation and enterprise development, as well as the everyday business including investment analysis, and pricing strategies across markets.

Marketing pathway: marketing is a critically important management activity for any successful organisation. This pathway will introduce you to contemporary academic thinking and research in the marketing area. These will then be examined and tested in the context of the current business environment for their applicability.

Aviation Management pathway: if you wish to become a manager in the growing commercial aviation sector, primarily with airlines and airport operators, then this is the pathway for you. We aim to develop key business management skills and understanding to deal with the many challenges in this important sector of the global economy. This course is recognised by the Association of Aerospace Universities (AAU), the UK body overseeing higher education in aviation."

I hope some of this is useful and I sincerely wish that whichever course you choose you go on to achieve every possible success.

Kind regards,
Simon.
