Hello, my name is Lauren, I'm 20 years old and want to be a midwife.
i applied to university last year, in the hope Id be accepted and be going this September (2014)
I have GCSEs all C and above, apart from maths, in which i got an E. I also have a DDM in health and social care (health science)
When I found out my result in maths, I went on a course which gave me "Level 2 adult numeracy" which is supposedly a A-C GCSE equivalent. But when I applied for midwifery, they didn't accept me purely because of my maths.. I was told that some universities accept the level 2 adult numeracy, but from having had a look online, it seems the entry requirements changed in 2012..
I really don't want to have another year out of education and would really like to go to uni in September 2015, but the thing is, I can't re take my maths GCSE until June 2015.. And the closing dates for applying to university are around February 2015 time..

Im so stuck on what to do, by the time that I can retake my GCSE (and hopefully pass) it will be too late to apply to uni, which means I'll have to have another year out.
unless there is a way that they will accept me on the ground that they know I'm completing my GCSE?
