I have noticed that on the SFE brochure it states that that they assist people attending college and Uni and have listed the courses that attract funding. They state that they financially assist people who attend courses that lead to DipHE however when I approached them, as I am studing DipHE in Access to Nursing, they have told me that do not provide assistance for this course. Is this true, if so their brochure is incorrect.

The person you contacted may have been muddled by the terminology.

An Access course is a Further Education course which is not covered by Student Finance.

A DipHE is a Higher Education course equivalent to two years of a degree course. This would be covered by Student Finance.

If you've said "Access" in a conversation with an SF rep, then your contact may automatically have assumed that you are at the lower Further Education level and thus would not attract funding. I suggest contacting them again and making it clear that you're on a DipHE course, which is university level.

But you may get a fee waiver or if over 24, you can get loans for your tuition fees.
