    Hello fellow students!

Well... for my placement year at Bournemouth university I have decided with a friend to setup a charity which will involve us going to a small village, Ijede in Nigeria. We will be taking approximately 60 computers with us and teaching children aged 9 and 10 what a computer is and the basic skills required to operate them. This is where you come in! I was wondering if any of you know of someone or a business that is due to dispose of some old computers soon which we could take of their hands and use for the project? Our office is in Bournemouth but we have places in Maidenhead, Weston Supermare and Taunton where we can store equipment.

If you could check out our site and spread the word I'd be extremely grateful.

Out of interest have any of you ever considered doing a charitable project for you placements? If so what have you done and why did you choose to do it?

The reason I chose to do it was that I thought working for a corporate for a year wouldn't really expand me as a person. Working for yourself demonstrates many more qualities such as dertermination, motivation and independance which are strong trates in industry which should consider by many. You will learn more about running a business and the responsibilities required aposed to how to complete a task you have been given by your manager.

If you've done your placement, did you find corporate placements useful and enlightening?
