I found £20 in the locker room at school today and handed it in. It felt like the right thing to do but everyone was saying to me I should have kept it. What would you, my fellow TSRians, have done?

Handing it in seems the sensible thing to do.

Agree with you, plus it's your legal duty to anyway.

What a spud. Anyone could claim it is theirs. If I find a note in a public place I just pick it up and keep it. Soznotsoz.

I think you did the right thing, but if it was £5... :ninja:

I dunno... I would maybe put it in a charity bucket or something. People don't tend to tell reception if they have lost a note, and just assume its gone forever anyway. If no one claims it, then the guy behind the desk would probably keep it.

Well it is the right thing to do but they're not going to be able to (or even try to) find the person it belongs to.... Whoever you gave it to is probably tucking into a £20 takeaway tonight.... Based on that, I would of kept it.

Yeah, you did the right thing, but whoever it belonged to probably isn't going to claim it, because a) they won't know if it's been handed in and b) anyone could claim it was their money.

You have a stronger moral streak than I do...

No. You should have kept it. It is your reward for being attentive. It is their loss for being so stupid.
