Men commenting on the attractiveness of other men

Guys: how comfortable are you doing this (assuming you're straight)? Are you OK when having a conversation about celebrities or whatever, saying "Yeah, Beckham is obviously a really great looking guy" or whichever guy you happen to think is attractive (platonically or otherwise)?

Girls: what do you think when you hear a guy saying "Yeah, I think Brad Pitt is less good looking than Freddie Ljunberg" or whatever?

I think its perfectly normal! When a girl says "Jennifer Anniston is absolutely stunning" it doesnt necessarily mean we are gay! lol To be honest id rather hear a guy compliment another guy on how they look because it shows they are okay with their sexuality, guys who worry about being called gay for saying another lad is good looking are the ones who are probably in denial about something.

Sure I do it all the time.

For example. I think Josh Hartnett is not an attractive chap, whereas Clive Owen is.

Doesn't bother me in the least, I think it is normal to comment on the looks of other males, it is only narrow-minded people who would assume that you have to be gay if you commented on the looks of other males.
Yeah i'll do it within limits, like i think Pierce Brosnan looks pretty sharp in a tux (as James Bond ) And that Johnny Depp looked pretty cool in PotC. Or that Tom Cuise didn't look bad in The Last Samurai (but i think that's more an issue of the swordplay :p:)

Well, I think it's fairly obvious that comments like "I want to make love to Justin Timberlake" are fairly obviously over the acceptably heterosexual line.

Not that being gay is unacceptable, but it's obviously crossed that platonic comment line.
I think it's fine if they're talking about celebs because it's a public opinon, if he was pointing out a random guy on the street saying 'he's good looking' I may have my doubts as to his partner preference in life... I think for girls it's more 'okay' to say in the street 'she's pretty' and not be regarded as gay because the female industry is all about telling each other they look fabulous :p: It's just society, but ultimately I wouldn't be too perturbed if a boy-friend pointed out good looking guys, i'd be quite grateful :p: x
I dunno... Me and my friends have all agreed that fancying Johnny Depp don't make ya gay. Just because he's so incredibly hot

I'm really not gay :s

To be honest if a guy I knew commented on how attractive another guy was I'd pull this face ^o)
I just find it weird for men to put emphasis on looks.
A passing comment like say 'yeh you look sharp' if maybe a friend was wearing a tux seems ok.

With women doing it, its completely different. There are definite double standards. Talking about hair, clothes, body, (underwear someone is wearing!) is all innocent and expected.
Perfectly comfortable.

I'm not uncomfortable with it, I'm just not a very good judge so I don't comment on it. Sometimes it is obvious that a man is attractive, but I won't just randomly point it out because there's no need.

Sometimes but not always. They might just worry society will see them as gay for saying that.

Actually, fancying another man is by definition gay. There's no way out of that one.
It's fine, I do it.
