you just need to type in "R v Blaue" into something like lexis nexis or westlaw. i think even just "blaue" would do...

Also be careful of using online databases, as the paragraph numbering is not always the same as in the official report. Go to the official report in the library, photocopy it and use that, you'll be more certain the references are correct.
www.justis.com is the only record I have seen where the paragraph numbers are correct, because its just a scan in of the pages basically and they actually use the correct pages unlike westlaw.

I know ppl from Bucerius, and the fact that it's a private school tells me stuff I wondered, one girl is such a whiny poshie.

Blaue I remember along with Pagett from causation ... however, I can't remember what it said so no help

Your university should have membership to databases - it seems like you'll have to go see your tutor I reckon!

Right, I have tried to find it by using the university membership account but was not successful.

61 Cr App R 271 This should be the filename of the judgment.

Is there anyone who is more successful in finding it? It would be very kind if you could help me.

The citation is R v Blaue [1975] 3 All ER 446

I found this on LexisNexis, I am not sure if I am allowed to post the judgement here, so a link is:

http://www.lexisnexis.com/uk/legal/results/docview/docview.do?risb=21_T684837272&format=GNBFULL&sort=BOOLEAN&startDocNo=1&resultsUrlKey=29_T684837274&cisb=22_T684837273&treeMax=true&treeWidth=0&csi=274668&docNo=7

I am not sure if that will work.

I got a 2:1 in my criminal law paper despite ommitting to mention that the defendant would be guilty of manslaughter! How? I don't know.
From where... it's fairly important that it's only a partial defence. Maybe your other questions dragged it up.

R v Blaue [1975] 3 All ER 446

D stabbed V, a Jehovas witness. Although the wound was life-threatening, a minor opperation and blood transfussion would have saved her. V declined the transfussion under the grounds of her faith and signed a notice to the effect that she was aware this would cause her death. Death occured less than twenty four hours later. Neither party argued she was mentally unfit to make this decision. D appealed his conviction to the court of appeal

Held- a refusual of medical treatment does not in itself constitute a break in causation. D must take his victim "as he finds him".
