hey ther, basically i was talkin 2 my gf and she said that she has had a "song" she shares with all of her other bfs while they were goin out. i jst wnted any suggestions for a good, slow song (perhaps with rnb in it) that we cld call "our song."

Don't get people to give you theirs, wait for it to come to you and your gf 
You can't just pick a song and tell her that will be your song, you need to find it together. It should be a song that is played at a momentus occasion, not one you just like a lot

Incidentally, I've always understood it that when a couple has an "our song," it's for a reason, such as it's been played during emotional moments they've had together, or it reminds them of some aspect of their relationship or something, as opposed to being selected arbitrarily.

Precisely. You cannae just choose your favourite slow song! Songs that I link to past girlfriends were just random, depending on what we heard when we were together. Like 'Whenever, wherever' of all songs still makes me feel sad!
It usually is just a song that is always playing on the radio when you were together, and a song that you both love. But more often than not, it's (maybe the first time) you danced together.
