    Hey,

So I'm going on a wee holiday in about a week and my period is due basically slap bang in the middle of it, assuming I follow a 26-day cycle (I have a period tracker app I've been using for a couple of years and this is the average its come up with). I got some Norethisterone via the Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor service and it's not the first time I've used it (I've taken it about 3 times in the past for the same reason).

However since my periods aren't 100% regular (anything between 22-28 days), when is the earliest I can start taking them? Right now its apparently due in 12 days, and I've been told by a doctor in the past that you can start taking them up to two weeks before your period is due. Shall I just start about 7 days before do you think?

Why did you use them, rather than your GP?

You should have been told by them when to take it. You've paid them rather more than you'd have paid a pharmacy if you'd had a normal prescription - let them earn it!

Having said that, its website says 'three days' before you're expecting to start.

Because I'm not registered to a GP down here, I'm not going two and half hours up the road just for a prescription.

As long as you take it across the duration of your holiday you should be fine in terms of bleeding. Regardless if when you take it, it's not really going to hurt you, just don't cut it so close that your period has already started.

I was told you can take them up to a week before your expected due date.
