I'm hoping to apply for a masters in public policy or political theory and really haven't got a clue what kinds of things would look good on my personal statement while still being relevant to my interest in that field.

What kinds of things could I do over the course of the next year to bulk up my CV/Personal Statement that would be relevant and show my interest in that field of academic study?

Would things like doing modules/dissertation in that subject be looked upon favourably and having work experience?

What kind of work experience would be relevant for public policy and political theory?
