'whooshing' blood rushing pulse sound in ear?

hello

recently and getting more frequent, i hear whooshing noises in my ear, like blood rushing in time to my pulse. what does this mean? is it dangerous? i looked it up on google and it seemed like tinnitus. i get the rining in my ears if im about to faint.however with this blood rushing noise i have no other symptoms. im on the Dianette for acne, and it may cause high blood pressure. do you think this is it? anyone else had this?
im bout average weight, used to be quite sporty but havent been in the gym for ages due to work and illness (tonsillitis and glandular infection all gone now)
what do i do to get rid?
its always on the right side, and sounds like the baby heartbeat on ultrasound scans
