I often find that music distracts me from concentrating, but everyone's different I guess. What type of music are you in to?

No music is best. Although it may relax you, it'll deteriorate your memory in the future because you'll be thinking about the song lyrics instead

I tend to listen to something that nobody else in the house likes, as that way they leave me in peace.

This usually ends up being Halestorm, Mumford and Sons or Tarot.

Sometimes some chillstep helps me to relax when I am reading. I find it to be particularly good for helping you to get through that last 2 hours of maths questions when you get to that point in the day when you can't be bothered anymore (roughly 5.30pm)

I tended to go for lyricless music.

Daft punk tron soundtrack and then tron reconfigured soundtrack were my favourites.

Anything that I know very well - any new music and I'll just end up listening to it instead. The more 'thoughtful' side of metal bands would usually be my choice, things like Tool, Meshuggah and Opeth.
