Why is it only Britain's identity/culture that gets challenged and denied?

When ethnic minorities call themselves British, this is a challenge to the British identity.

It would be like White Europeans in America calling themselves Native Red Indians.

I suppose they could. The red Indians may not like it though.

I don't think that's a good analogy. If they had descended from native Americans then that's one thing, but because native Americans don't grant citizenship and so on to immigrants, you don't get third-generation ethnic minority native Americans.

Anyway, these British ethnic minorities in question aren't calling themselves descendents of natives, they're calling themselves British, which if it says as much on their passport, that's enough for me. Unlike native American identity, British identity changes according to governmental policy.

OK. Tell me

What is the british identity ?

I have noticed the use of the word 'ethnic' on this forum
The truth is, everyone is ethnic. White brits, just like everyone else, have their own foods, holidays, heroes, newspapers, neighbourhoods, restaurants and shops. They speak English with an accent just like everyone else.

Starbucks is an ethnic coffee shop.

Radio 1,2,3,4 are ethnic radio stations.

Indie rock is ethnic music.

The Daily Mirro is an ethnic newspaper.

Kensington in London is an ethnic neighbourhood..

“Friends” was an ethnic television show.

McDonald’s is an ethnic restaurant.

English and history at UK schools are White British (ethnic) studies.

Not calling white things white (the white press, my white professor), allow White people to talk about their divided society in a way that does not make them feel too uncomfortable.

British people do not have a culture most of them are mixed race people with no identity...

The British (meaning racially white and ethnically English, Scottish, Welsh) are predominantly a blend of different European groups, namely Celts (the Britons, Scots, Picts, and others), Romans (which incorporated people from all over Europe and the Mediterranean), Germanic peoples such as Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, and some admixture from other groups like the Norman-French (themselves a mix of Scandinavian Viking, Frankish, and Gallo-Roman bloodlines).

Ethnicities of other European nations would have a similarly mixed ancestry. Europe for millenia was a major center for invasions and migrations from within and even from foreign groups coming from more eastern regions, and these groups then later settled in different lands and were assimilated by the people who lived in those lands beforehand, hence the modern inhabitants have a polyglot heritage of different groups. Celts, Germanic tribes, Romans, and Slavs are probably the four biggest and most broad ancestries that most Europeans can claim to be descended at least in part from. Other ancestries, like Greek, Iberian, Thracian, Hunnic, Tatar, etc. are more restricted to certain parts of Europe.

British culture
1. Binge drinking
2. Urinating in the street
3. Moaning about everything
4. Radical feminism
5. Claim culture
6. Holier than thou arrogance
7. Having sex with everyone
8. Breeding constantly
9. Poor work ethic
10.Swearing at everyone including the elderly ,your parents, teachers.
11.Poop in their arse
12. Stealing from others
13-Plagiarism
14-White Beauty Myth
15-Tanning to look like us brown people!
16-Love for Homosexuality and other deviant way of life
17- cheating and highest divorce rate of the world...

Bull****.

England has been invaded so many times that means English people are Mongrels there has been intermarriages of different ancient peoples over the years English people have ancestry from other parts of the UK and also Southern Europe Northern Europe Western Europe Central Europe South East Europe and Eastern Europe English people also have Sub Sahara African and Middle Eastern ancestry the Romans where Mongrels themselves not every Roman was Italian Romans come from all over the place the majority of English people like other British people have Pre Celtic ancestry English people are mostly Celtic like 75% only 5% of English people are Germanic the Celts where from Central Austria Angels Saxons and Jutes came from Northern Germany and Southern Denmark the Vikings and the Normans where from Norway Sweden and Denmark the Angels Saxons Jutes Vikings and Normans where basically Russian but English people are not Slavic they are Mongrels.

In simple terms, the British Isles (all the islands from the North West of Europe are counted: Great Britain, Ireland etc) were founded by the Basque (also called Celts) and they are darker, before Britain and Ireland were cut off from the continent; Romans (Italians), Angles, Saxons and Jutes, Norwegian (and other Norther Europeans), and Normans all form the ethnicities of modern Great Britain. ....

We are a mongrel nation...

Britain's so-called ethnic purity has already been adulterated by migrants from Denmark and Normandy about a thousand years ago, and by Romans even before that.

We're British because we're here, not because of some special quality of our DNA.

Damn those those Celts, Romans, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Nomans, African Slaves, Refugees from Germany, Afro-Carribieans, Ugandan Refugees, Indians,Sri Lankans, Pakistanis, Cantonese, Nepalese, Cypriotes, Polish,... coming over to this country, being British and making it better. How dare they!

We are a mongrel nation, this is just a continuation of a trend over the last few thousand years.

That's barely a post. Plus the first guy's post was clearly racist.

White people can't face racism they are the racist ,they are not oppressed and overall have the upper hand, so there's no such thing as being racist against a white person. A few mean words is nothing compared to genocide, slavery, being beat up and raped because of your skin color and treated like you're less than human due to centuries of deep rooted racism "fixed" by sweeping everything under the carpet.

Why would it be a good thing?

Because if a country is founded on ideas, anybody is welcome so long as they respect those ideas. If a country is founded on race or something similar, then it is an exclusive club.

Nothing about either of those things is objectively good or bad.

It's not particularly true though, it's an over simplified cliche that has no relevance to the discussion about immigration in the modern era.
