well i'd like the guy who's approached me to be slightly confident, but the question you're asking is of 2 extremes.
i don't like guys that are too confident because they're just cocky, similarly shy guys don't talk and its hard for stuff to happen.

Shy guys wouldn't approach me (or anyone really) unless they had been friends with me for ages and felt comfortable around me to make a move. And after establishing a good friendship that is already a bit late imo.
