I was shy a few years ago but now i'm more confident and only shy sometimes but i don't really know the reason to why 
The thing with me is that i don't approach girls because i don't want to come across as one of those guys that chats every girl up. Every single guy except 2 i know that go up to girls straight away want one thing, that maybe just my mates but it's good to be shy sometimes as some girls know that a shy guy perhaps could treat the girl better rather than a confident one.
Everyone is different though, whoever you are, there'll be someone that'll like you for being you.

My housemates are slightly different, they will talk about speaking to a girl and the things they would like to do to the point when i just think "Go and F'ing do it already!"
I realise that if you never try you dont get anywhere but to me being like my housemates is worse!

lol i guess thats true! But my shyness mostly comes down to the fact i totally blank when i even attempt to talk to a girl. Im a pretty social person and i can get along with most people but as soon as you put me in a situation like, trying to chat someone up, i freeze up until the point of dizzyness (worst case).
Which then leads to me not really talking to anyone outside of my group of friends im out with, and generally getting a bit too drunk to make any sense when i do speak.

aww lol, so if a girl did first talk to you a little, and then u saw her again some other time would you initiate a convosation?/ make the effort to go up to her.?

Yea i would... if she showed a bit of interest id be bloody made up and want to speak again for sure!
