Lack Confidence when socializing/talking etc!

Hi everyone!

I just want some tips on how i can boost my confidence? this is since i'm not good at communicating with others, and each time i have to socialize or participate in group discussions or do presentations my voice disappears and my heart begins to beat faster and faster although i don't understand why:frown: .........and then i find it immensely difficult when trying to talk and bring my voice out.....and my voice becomes all shaky:frown:

Any suggestions??

Look for the most approachable person in the social group, talk to the person and warm up to him/her. When you get talking to one person, you'll feel more confident to approach other people. Surely the person might have friends whom she/he could introduce you to.

You could try and dress in bright colours, stand up straight , smile at people and say hi; this would also allow you to look more approachable.

I used to have the same problem. If you're in class doing presentations and what not, I make myself think that I'm paying all this money for university, its something that has to be done, and I often now just get on with it. Whereas back at school I'd panic and go red and probably try to get out of it.

If its when socialising etc, as said talk to the person which you think would be easiest to talk to, just random talk usually works until you've had a few drinks, then you just seem to talk to anyone.
Have a couple of drinks then you'll loosen up!
Yeah seriously, I have to be ******ed to talk to anyone.
Only problem is now I've had so many heavy nights I've lost my voice...
