Oh crap! I hate drawing non-league teams.
I wanted a PL team and we got one! :h: Stoke City v Wrexham. Great for the club to have this tie. Also, Mark Hughes against his home town team and we can get back at Jon Walters for leaving us to join Chester.

Not bad draws for the other non-league teams too, especially Dover v Crystal Palace and West Brom v Gateshead.
Ccracking draw really, non league clubs getting prem clubs. 4 former Finals in the draw, United going to Accrington or Yeovil. Well done drawers!

Fulham away for us is a shocking draw though.

Dover-Palace, Wimbledon-Liverpool and Accrington/Yeovil-United are the only decent ties.

Naturally, the above three ^ are all on TV.

Shame BBC have opted to go for Arsenal v Hull City rather than Dover-Crystal Palace, though.
Everton-West Ham on TV too, which is more disappointing - why not the Blyth game?
Absolutely ridiculous that some of the games are being played on a Tuesday. Was it so hard to move the cup back a week to the 10th/11th Jan?

The FA Cup has long been treated as a joke by the authorities in the English game.

Yeah. Scrapping replays needs to happen sooner rather than later.

We should really scrap one of the league cup/FA cup and just have one domestic trophy. Just adding congestion to fixtures list for no real reason.

Ive said for years that the League Cup should only be for sides not involved in European competition. Maybe the big teams could only play their reserves?

I'd certainly be for this - or even just getting rid of the JPT and instead placing the non-European playing PL teams against the lower league clubs in a sort of miniature League Cup.

Chesterfield have won 1-0 (again)! Impressive 1137 Chesterfields fans at MK tonight - good considering its a Friday night just after Christmas, and given the whole FA replay fiasco.

Much more impressive than the poor turnout to watch the Bluebirds progress to the fourth round at Colchester's expense. Maybe there are some good cheap drink offers in Cardiff city centre or Barry Island after the New Year to tempt people elsewhere.

No FA Cup match being shown on TV today...smh.

Get Blyth - Birmingham on BBC One.

There will be low attendances like that in the vast majority of cup ties this weekend. Most people are completely skint at the moment and there are better things to spend your money on than watching your teams reserves play another teams reserves in a half empty stadium. Especially when the weather is **** and it's a team that your club has played plenty of times in the league in recent seasons. Clubs & players don't care so why should the fans?

Games being moved around for TV with no consideration for the fans doesn't help either. Cardiff is 250 miles away from Colchester, yet for some reason the game was played on a Friday night.
Maybe someone (not me) should make an FA Cup Discussion Thread to prevent people using multiple other threads?

Edit: Never mind, found it :colonhash:

"Tradition" stops any Saturday 3pm kickoff from being televised, no matter how big the game is. (Which is probably why it should have been moved to midday or tomorrow)

Or an early/late kick-off today.
