I've already got 4 A's in AS level and 1 A in A level, this totals 360 points. All of the universities i am applying for require 340 points or less... do i need to complete the second year in order to obtain my place?

yes, uni's want alevels, soem may take 2AS's in the place of 1A2, but you invariably need to have at least 2 A2's

What is normally convention is that whilst universities will specify a certain amount of UCAS tarrif points, they also expect candidates to have studied to a certain volume and depth of study. This basically equates to applicants needing to usually have at least 2 A-Levels.

I don't think any uni will accept you with less than 2 full A-levels. Even unis that base their offers on points usually specify that they must come from a certain number of A-levels, either 2 or 3 depending on how good the uni is.

You could ring around and see but I doubt it.

If you don't want to complete the second year with full time study maybe it would be possible for you to study for one or two A2s (preferably 2 as it widens your uni choice) whilst earning or gaining work experience in your chosen field?
