I dont really want to begin thinking negatively, however, if we do not manage to do well in our january modules, how many times can we re-sit the module? I heard from someone it was 3 times, but maybe in some schools it varies.

It varies in my school you could resit the january module in May/June and if it was AS then Nov, Jan, and May/June of your Alevel year though they didn't encourage too many resits. Some schools may ask you to pay for your resits if you resit more than once aswell.

retake three times (so you can have four shots at the module), but it can get really complicated if not explained to you properly by your teachers.

    and yeh, £12 a module

    These posts are correct. E.g.
First exam January Y12 - resit June, January Y13/ June Y13 if required
    Summer y12 - resit Jan/ June Y13 etc

Theoretically, you can resit the entire qualification as many times as you like, but this would be impossible within a 2 year period

If it's £12 per module, that's up 40 pence from alst year

Our school lets you retake but you have to pay including first resits. And they charge £15 . I think in some A-lelels if you retake twice your third sitting is the final mark, but i'm not sure??

You can sit them thru public centres (like schools) a max of three times.
You can sit them thru private centres (like the British Council or any other institute) a max of eight times.

I've not heard about this - or have not been told. Can anyone verify this. If this is the case, then I will need to ensure a marked improvement in some modules this January. Perhaps someone can confirm this?

Not all public schools allow sittings for private candidates, you need you phone a few local ones to find out.
