I'm in Year 13 and for our A2 Maths course we are studying Core 3, Core 4 and Mechanics 1.

I really stuggle and dislike M1 loads. Ideally I would like to do Statistics. Even though none of the maths teachers have ever taught it at our school, do you think I'd be okay teaching myself the content?

Despite being told that I won't be able to do S1, I really want to. Does anyone know if S1 is easier than M1?

Thanks.

What one person finds easy someone else will find hard. I'd say that on Edexcel S1 is generally easier than M1, especially if you don't do physics. A large part of it builds on GCSE knowledge and you get a lot of help from the formula book for calculating correlation and regression. Some of the probability is a bit tricky and normal distribution problems can be tough to get your head around at first but the tutorials on examsolutions explain things well.
