Student Oyster in Gap Year
Hey all, I was just wondering if its possible to get a student oyster card during your gap year if you've got a deferred place at uni.
I'm currently working in zone 1 and I live in zone 6 so travel is really expensive for me, a student oyster would save me about £300 over the 6 months I'm working.

This is Ken Livingstone territory- of course you're not going to get something that would actually save you money! 
Anyway, according to those beauties at TFL, you need to be attending the university to be able to claim the Student Oyste, and as somebody above said, it has to be a university that has signed up (but saying that, most of the major London unis like UCL, Kings, Imperial et al. are). But again, as somebody said, you could just get the Adult Oyster.

Yeh I have a normal oyster now, it costs me £157 a month, which is pretty raw. I wouldn't mind paying it all if the trains were never delayed, but they always are. I go on the Central and Jubilee line now so its not too bad.
Just get a bit pissed off when I've paid that much and still and up 20 mins late cos of a signal failure. Still I've got a good job so its worth it.

Pretty good since you get a voucher for probably a bit more than you paid!
