Yeah... to an extent. Although I'm from London and wouldn't have minded going to a London uni, moving out and all the rest of it. Only problem was it was too damn expensive!!
Tell me about it ... only reason I didn't apply to LSE, UCL or KCL!! Their halls are living expenses in subsequent years are horrendous, extra loan doesn't come close to covering it.

shet seriously?! well Natwest ranked london universities as one of the cheapest compared to cambridge nottingham etc etc... =( compensates with part time positions
London... cheap?! I hope you're having a laugh!! Coming up to Nottingham was a godsend to me, I could have a night out and not have to spend £50/60 on the night and another £10 on a cab ride home! Living costs are very expensive in London, you're looking at paying at least £100/wk rent, whereas here you're looking £50-80 max!

eheh, no i was just saying MSN ranked London Universities as one of the cheap universities to go to! or something's wrong with Bill Gates?

Well the london unis charge like 9k in hall fees in first year, to make up for the fact taht they can't charge as much tuition as they want ... do the maths, that isn't even covered by the blown up loan.

-.-' forget london, anyway i got around 10 months to do some part time job and save enough money. =) £5.20/hr 11 hrs a week
its around £8640 per year for a £180 expenditure per week
i recieved a letter saying, "as a result of your recent application via UCAS, you will shortly be receiving an offer to study singler honours computer scince at the university of nottingham. i am therefore pelased to inviteyou to visit the school..."

does that mean i will get an offer????:biggrin: :colondollar:
I would have though "you will" rather than "you might" was fairly conclusive, congrats.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. Take a look at this and see yourself:
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/about/structure/admin/facser/accomm/residencefees.html
http://www.lse.ac.uk/accommodation/fees/list_LSE.htm
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/accommodation/residences/fees/

UoN fees are roughly the same.

another £10 on a cab ride home

It costs exactly the same in Nottingham...

Do you mean you've never paid £6 in Notts, or London? £6-7 is the most I've paid on a taxi (and it's usually split between 5/6 people).
