Don't do it. parcetamol overdoses can be dangerous.

However, if you are really coughing then consider switching your lemsip for paracetamol and codeine. You can buy it over the counter (do discuss this with the pharmacist), and codeine suppresses your cough reflex. It contains paracetamol, so you can't take it with lemsip.

It contains paracetamol although I'm not sure how much. It probably isn't a good idea to take to really.

I'd do it but then again it contains paracetamol and an overdose can damage your liver. Your better off taking 2 ibuprofen an hour or so before/after the lemsip

That stuffs so weak I think you'd have to just drink that for about a week before you did anything to yourself.
Please ignore this!!
Well obviously I'm not suggesting that you do just drink that for a week - I was kinda hoping that you could make that sort of judgement for yourself...
I would not risk it at all, only take the recommended amount.

It was the fact that you think it's weak that shocked me.
Anything you can just walk into a shop and buy is weak - it has to be to stop all the loons thinking they can get drugged up on lemsip.
Not true anything with paracetamol is dangerous especially taking more than the recommended amount, some people might be alright taking more, but it does not mean you will be.

Taking two lemsips is ok as a one off, but its not ok if you are doing it every two hours.

That's pretty much what I was trying to say.
To the OP:
As Juno said, if you're having real problems at night with coughing then you could try co-codamol (paracetamol and codeine) to suppress the cough - although it isn't really a good idea to do this often.
You could just try something like a strepsil (lozenge) to numb the back of the throat which helps to ease coughing.
Other than that, just keep your fluid intake up as this will help hydrate your airways/sinuses and hopefully make it easier to clear whatever's causing the cough.

cough it up
I love lemsip.
Seriously people! There are safety instructions on the packets for a very good reason! Paracetamol overdose is very serious, it has a narrow therapeutic index, meaning that it doesn't take much more than the standard dose to cause you harm. Don't take more than it says on the back of the packet.

If you're really feeling bad, you can take paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin, decongestant (so long as it doesn't also contain paracetamol) and codeine together, but make sure you obey all the recommended doses.

I ate 4 packets of Lockets in 2 hours once, and fell into a coma, where I remained for 5 weeks.

Beware of decongestant lemony treats.

hehehe
Lemsip is really addictive though, my teacher once joked that I'd have it intravenously if I could!
